Refund Policy

When Copperstrait puts days back on your balance, the one part of a crypto top-up that can be returned, and how to ask for either.

Last updated: · 5 min read

Quick answer

Does Copperstrait give refunds on its servers?

Yes, in the cases set out below. If we cannot deliver a server, or it fails and support cannot restore it, the days it was out of service are put back on your balance. Balances never expire. Top-ups are not paid out unless the law requires it; whatever was paid only to reach the minimum top-up can be returned on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC, if still unspent. A credit lands on your Copperstrait balance rather than in a wallet. Claiming it takes an email, not an ID.

1. When are days put back on my balance?

In two cases, and only these:

  • The server cannot be delivered. For example, no machine of your plan is free in your city once the payment is confirmed. No machine is set up, and every cent remains on your balance.
  • A delivered server breaks down beyond repair by support. Each day it was out of service comes back. A day is valued at the term's price over its length in days. For a 30-day term that is one thirtieth; longer terms work the same way.

The table applies the rule to common situations.

What happensResult
You order Strait 32 at $356.25 in Tokyo, and no such machine is free there when the payment is confirmedNo server is built. All $356.25 stays on your balance, for another plan or city.
Your Strait 16 is ready three days after the payment is confirmedNothing lost: your 30 days are counted from delivery.
Your Strait 16 at $143.25 runs for 20 days, then breaks down and support cannot repair itThe 10 days it was out of service go back on your balance: 10/30 of $143.25.
You cancel your Strait 32 after 12 daysNo credit. A cancellation returns the machine and wipes its disks; the remaining days go with it.
Your server is suspended for sending spamNo credit: a suspension for breaking the acceptable use policy is not a refund case.
Your term ends and auto-renew is off, or the balance cannot payThe server stops, its disks are held 7 days, then erased. Nothing more is charged or credited.

2. Where do credited days go?

Once support confirms the case, the credit is added to your Copperstrait balance in US dollars. Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your servers. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it.

That balance pays for any plan on the Copperstrait pricing page, in Hong Kong, Singapore or Tokyo, for any term.

3. Can any of a crypto top-up be returned?

Just one slice: what you paid only because of the $25 minimum. Request it within 30 days; if it is unspent, you receive it in USDT or USDC. All other balance stays put, unless a law requires a payout.

Why this slice exists: checkout asks for the shortfall between your balance and the order, with $25 as the floor. If the shortfall is below that floor, the excess sits on your balance. That excess is the returnable slice.

Top-upAmount that can come back in USDT or USDC
$25, to renew Strait 16 when less than $25 was missing from your balanceThe minimum less the shortfall, provided you claim it within 30 days and it is unspent.
A larger top-up in the same situationThe same difference only. Anything sent above the minimum is ordinary balance.
$356.25 for Strait 32 on an empty balanceNothing: no part of the top-up was paid only to reach the minimum.
$25 or more without ordering a serverNothing: it is all ordinary balance.
A request 45 days after paymentNothing, as the 30 days are over. The amount remains usable as balance and never expires.

4. How do I ask for a credit or a refund?

Requests go by email. None needs ID or documents.

  1. Write to support

Email [email protected] with "Refund request" in the subject line. Use the account's email address, if it has one.

  2. Identify the payment

Quote the payment's TXID and the ORD-… order reference. Do not send your account number. Nobody from our team will ever ask for your account number, your root password or your private SSH key, by email or in a chat.

  3. Say what you claim

Failed server: send its IP address and what went wrong. Minimum top-up slice: send a USDT or USDC address and name the network.

  4. Wait for the answer

A person answers support emails within 12 hours, seven days a week, including help with SSH keys, RAID, reinstalls and firewall rules.

5. What is never refunded?

  • Ordinary balance, except the slice described in section 3 or a payout required by law.
  • Unused days after you cancel a server.
  • Unused days on a server stopped for breaking the acceptable use policy.
  • Data erased after the 7-day grace period, or by a reinstall or a cancellation. Backups are not part of the service: keep copies of your data on another machine.
  • Network fees paid on your own transfers.
  • Funds from a sanctioned address. Every incoming payment is screened against public sanctions lists of blockchain addresses; payments from a listed address are not credited.
  • Coins lost to a mistyped address or the wrong network: no one can reverse such a transfer.

6. Is there a free trial?

No free trial is offered; Strait 16, the smallest server, costs $143.25 for 30 days. There is no setup fee, on the first order or on any renewal. Credits cover only the cases of section 1, so check a plan's processor, memory, disks and traffic before you pay. The page on Asian hosts that accept Bitcoin or USDT compares how other hosts in Asia take crypto.

7. Is a chargeback possible on a crypto payment?

No. Once confirmed on-chain, a payment is final, and no chargeback mechanism exists. A credit or a payout comes only through the cases above, claimed at [email protected]. The terms of service incorporate these rules.

8. How can this policy change?
