Does paying in crypto spare you the ID check?

At most Asian hosts, crypto changes how you pay, not whether you are checked. Zomro's terms name crypto payment as a reason to ask for KYC. Cherry Servers holds back its cheapest servers from new crypto clients until they verify ID or add €100 of credit. Its crypto gateway, CoinGate, asks for a name, a country and a birth date to meet the EU's travel rule.

RedSwitches goes the other way: KYC for card payers, none for crypto payers. Anubiz Host states no KYC at signup at all. Which coins each host takes is compared in Which dedicated server hosts in Asia accept Bitcoin or USDT?

Which no-ID hosts sell a good server in Hong Kong or Singapore?

Few: only 3 hosts in Hong Kong and 6 in Singapore sold a server that passed our checks without asking for ID at signup. The checks were a 2018-or-later CPU, a 1 Gbit/s port, 10 TB of traffic, one IPv4 address and monthly billing.

  • Hong Kong: RedSwitches, KoDDoS and Anubiz Host.
  • Singapore: 1Gbits, Anubiz Host, Cherry Servers, MonoVM, RedSwitches and Vultr.

Ultahost and WebHorizon ask no ID either, but their servers missed the checks. Ultahost states no IPv4 address, and WebHorizon's Singapore stock was sold out. How do I rent a server without ID at Copperstrait?

Five steps, none of which asks who you are.

  1. Open an account

The site gives you an account number. Your account number is the key to your account, so store it well. If you add an email it can be recovered; if you do not, a lost number is gone for good.

  2. Top up in crypto

Send BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC to the address shown, from $25.

  3. Choose the server

Pick Strait 16, 32 or 32F, a term, Hong Kong, Singapore or Tokyo, a system, and an SSH key if you have one.

  4. Wait for the build

Someone on the team sets the machine up once your payment is confirmed, within 72 hours, so delivery is not instant; the dashboard tracks it until the IP address shows.

  5. Log in as root

Root over SSH from the first minute: add a public key at checkout and password login stays disabled, or leave it out and a temporary root password comes with the server, to be changed when you first log in.

What does Copperstrait keep about you instead?

We hold only what billing and running your server need. No logs: no connection or traffic records, no visitor or customer IP address, and no note of how you found the site beyond a referral code if your link had one. What we hold is what billing and running your server need: the account number, and an email if you add one; every top-up and order (amount, coin, network, transaction ID, date); and for each server its name, plan, term, city, system, SSH public key, IP addresses and dates, plus the temporary root password we set when no key was given, which is useless once you change it. The datacenter’s network equipment is not ours to control. Records leave our hands only on the order of a Panamanian court.

No ID does not mean no rules. Prohibited: spam or bulk email, phishing, malware or botnet control, DDoS or other attacks, scanning or brute-forcing systems you do not own, booter or stresser services, carding or fraud, child sexual abuse material, cryptocurrency mining, IPTV or the public distribution of films, series, music, games or software you hold no rights to, and any service to sanctioned people or companies. We do not serve residents or companies of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, China, Yemen or Western Sahara, nor the occupied regions of Ukraine. Every incoming payment is screened against public sanctions lists of blockchain addresses; payments from a listed address are not credited. Copperstrait is operated by DomaineGoat LLC, incorporated in Panama and answerable to Panamanian law only. The datacenter in each city is bound by the law of the place it stands in. This describes our policy and is not legal advice. Every record we hold is listed in the privacy policy; prices and terms are on pricing.

What else do buyers ask about renting without ID?

Do I need an email address?

No. An account number is enough to sign in; adding an email address is up to you. An email is only useful to recover a lost account number.

Will you ask for ID later, for example after a complaint?

No. No KYC: you upload no ID, no selfie and no documents, and give no card or phone number. A complaint about spam, malware or another banned use ends in suspension, not in an identity check.

Can I pay by card to skip crypto?

No. Payment is crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. At RedSwitches, paying by card is precisely what brings the KYC check.

Is a Tokyo server also available without ID?

Yes. Every server is sold in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo on the same terms. Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo (Japan): every server in every city, at the same price.

Do you serve customers in mainland China?

No. We do not serve residents or companies of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, China, Yemen or Western Sahara, nor the occupied regions of Ukraine.
