Who rents bare metal in Hong Kong, what a comparable machine costs there, and why so many local offers are built around routes into mainland China.

**Quick answer — Where can I rent a dedicated server in Hong Kong?**

You can rent a dedicated server in Hong Kong from **Copperstrait** at $143.25 for 30 days: a whole machine paid in crypto, no KYC, priced as in Singapore and Tokyo. In Copperstrait's survey of 2 November 2026, 20 of 33 Asian bare-metal hosts sold in Hong Kong; 3 sold one payable in crypto without ID that passed our checks.

## Who sells dedicated servers in Hong Kong?

**20 hosts listed bare metal in Hong Kong on 2 November 2026, yet only 3 took crypto without ID for a server that passed our checks.** Those checks: a CPU from 2018 or later, a 1 Gbit/s port, 10 TB of traffic, one IPv4 address and monthly billing. The field splits into four groups.

- **Crypto, no ID at signup:** RedSwitches has the widest stock, with 13 Hong Kong builds from €189 (Xeon E-2174G, 4 cores), most delivered within an hour. It takes crypto only through Cryptomus. KoDDoS sells AMD EPYC machines with a 10 Gbit/s port, from $425.00 for an EPYC 7443. Anubiz Host asks $708.99 for the same CPU and states 48 to 72 hours of setup.
- **Crypto, but no box that passed:** 1Gbits, MonoVM and Ultahost also take coins. Their Hong Kong lines fell on an old CPU, a 5 TB quota, a 250 Mbit/s line or no stated IPv4.
- **Card or invoice only:** Leaseweb, DataPacket, OneProvider and LayerStack publish Hong Kong prices but take no crypto. Leaseweb checks every new customer before delivery. Gcore, i3D.net, Lightlayer, Servers.com and Zenlayer quote on request.
- **China-market hosts:** Server.HK, Dataplugs and RAKsmart build their Hong Kong lines around routes into mainland China.

On delivery we now keep pace: RedSwitches and Dataplugs hand over most servers within an hour or two, and ours arrive minutes after payment confirmation, one hour at most. On port speed KoDDoS is ahead, with 10 Gbit/s ports, while ours run at 1 Gbit/s.

RedSwitches takes crypto only through Cryptomus (also trading as Heleket), a processor the United Kingdom sanctioned on 8 October 2026.

## Why do so many Hong Kong servers advertise China routes?

**Much of the Hong Kong market sells the route into mainland China, and that route is the one thing we do not sell.** In our survey, 7 of 33 Asian bare-metal hosts sold CN2 or other China-optimised bandwidth. 6 put a Chinese-language site up front. Server.HK was the only one marketed mainly to mainland users (1 of 33).

That focus shapes the hardware. Server.HK sold 10 to 30 Mbit/s CN2 lines, and RAKsmart 20 Mbit/s by default. Dataplugs started at 100 Mbit/s, with a full 1 Gbit/s port costing $425 a month on top. A cheap Hong Kong price often hides a thin line.

Every server has a 1 Gbit/s port with a monthly traffic allowance (Strait 16 20 TB, Strait 32 20 TB, Strait 32F 30 TB), one dedicated IPv4 address and an IPv6 /64; going past the allowance never triggers an automatic bill. No China-optimised route (CN2) is sold. We do not serve residents or companies of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, China, Yemen or Western Sahara, nor the occupied regions of Ukraine. Does a buyer outside China gain anything from CN2? ## Is Hong Kong still a sound place to keep a server?

It depends on your project and on Hong Kong law, which we cover from a host's side on separate pages. [Is Hong Kong still a good place to host servers?](https://copperstrait.com/is-hong-kong-good-for-hosting/ "Hong Kong as a hosting location in 2026") weighs the case as a whole. [How does Hong Kong's National Security Law affect websites hosted in Hong Kong?](https://copperstrait.com/hong-kong-national-security-law-hosting/ "The National Security Law and hosted websites") reads the security law line by line.

Two legal layers apply to every server. Copperstrait is operated by DomaineGoat LLC, incorporated in Panama and answerable to Panamanian law only. The datacenter in each city is bound by the law of the place it stands in. This page describes that setup; it is not legal advice.

## Who should pick Hong Kong over Singapore or Tokyo?

Start from where your users are. Of our three ports, Hong Kong is the nearest on the map to Taiwan, the Philippines and Hong Kong itself. Singapore is nearer for Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand; Tokyo for Japan and South Korea.

Map distance is a first filter, not a latency figure. We publish no latency or speed figures of our own: we have not measured them. Test from where your users are once the server is yours. With one price for all three ports, moving a project between ports costs nothing extra.

**Before you pay**

- Minimum top-up $1. Top up once in crypto, then buy any plan from your balance.
- Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your servers. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it.
- Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain. Typical network confirmation time: BTC ≈ 20 min · USDT TRC-20 ≈ 1 min · USDT ERC-20 ≈ 5 min · USDC ERC-20 ≈ 5 min · ETH ≈ 5 min · SOL ≈ 1 min · LTC ≈ 15 min · XMR ≈ 20 min

## Renting a server in Hong Kong: common questions

### Can I pay for a Hong Kong server with USDT or Bitcoin?

Yes. The accepted coins are BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, XMR, from a $1 top-up. USDT is taken on the networks listed at checkout. Monero is accepted too, and counts after 10 confirmations.

### Do you need my ID or a Hong Kong address?

No. No KYC: you upload no ID, no selfie and no documents, and give no card or phone number. An account number is enough to sign in; adding an email address is up to you. What other Hong Kong hosts ask at signup is set out in [Can I rent a server in Hong Kong or Singapore without ID verification?](https://copperstrait.com/asia-server-without-kyc/ "What Asian hosts ask for at signup")

### Is a Hong Kong server cheaper than one in Tokyo?

At Copperstrait, the price is the same. Elsewhere, Hong Kong often costs less. RedSwitches priced the same Xeon E-2286G build at €251 in Hong Kong and €354 in Tokyo on 2 November 2026.

### How quickly is a Hong Kong server online?

Once your crypto payment is confirmed, the team sets up the machine and hands it over in minutes, with one hour as the upper limit; the dashboard tracks it until the IP address shows. The quickest rivals there quote about the same: one hour for most RedSwitches builds in Hong Kong and about one hour at Dataplugs. KoDDoS states under 48 hours.

### Is DDoS protection included in Hong Kong?

No DDoS mitigation is promised beyond what the datacenter network applies by itself. If filtering matters most for your project, choose a host that sells it as a product.
