Two email addresses, one for support and one for abuse reports. Email is the only way in, and a person reads every message.

**Quick answer — How can I reach Copperstrait support or report abuse?**

To contact **Copperstrait** support, email support@copperstrait.com about an order, a payment, SSH access, RAID or a server that stopped; a person answers within 12 hours. To report abuse from a Copperstrait IP address, write to abuse@copperstrait.com. Quote the order reference, never your account number. The smallest server costs $143.25 for 30 days, in crypto, with no KYC.

> **Keep your account safe** Nobody from our team will ever ask for your account number, your root password or your private SSH key, by email or in a chat. Our replies come only from support@copperstrait.com. Treat any other sender using the Copperstrait name as an impersonation.

## What makes a support email easy to answer?

**A precise email gets a precise answer the first time.** Put these in the message:

- the order reference (ORD-…) from your dashboard;
- the server's IP address, plan, city and system;
- the commands you ran and the error text word for word, for example `Connection refused`;
- the time of the problem, ideally in UTC.

Never paste the account number, a root password or a private key into an email. A public key, the `.pub` file, is fine to share. Root over SSH from the first minute: add a public key at checkout and password login stays disabled, or leave it out and a temporary root password comes with the server, to be changed when you first log in.

## My server stopped answering: what can support do?

**Support reboots or reinstalls it for you.** No IPMI or KVM-over-IP console is given to customers; the team runs the reboots and reinstalls you request in the dashboard. Use the dashboard to ask for a reboot, a reinstall or a cancellation, and the team carries it out; a reinstall clears every disk.

Start with a reboot request from the dashboard, then wait several minutes: bare metal restarts slower than a VPS. If SSH stays silent, write to support. Mention the IP address and what changed last, such as a firewall rule or a kernel update. Backups are not part of the service: keep copies of your data on another machine.

## Can I change the disk layout before delivery?

**Yes, while the server is still being prepared.** On two-disk servers the system is mirrored in software RAID 1 unless you ask support, before delivery, for RAID 0 or separate disks. Send support the order reference and name the layout you want (RAID 0, RAID 1 or no array). Once the server is delivered, a new layout means a reinstall, which clears every disk.

## How do I report abuse from a Copperstrait IP address?

**Write to abuse@copperstrait.com with enough detail to find the server and the activity.** Include:

- the Copperstrait IP address involved;
- the date and time, in UTC or with the time zone;
- what happened: spam, phishing, malware, a scan or an attack;
- evidence, such as log lines, full email headers or the URL.

The [Copperstrait acceptable use policy](https://copperstrait.com/acceptable-use/ "What may and may not run on a Copperstrait server") lists the banned uses and explains how reports lead to suspension.

## What happens if my account number is lost?

**Recovery works only through an email address on the account.** Your account number is the key to your account, so store it well. If you add an email it can be recovered; if you do not, a lost number is gone for good.

- **With an email:** use "Forgot your account number?" on the dashboard sign-in page, and the number goes to that address.
- **Without an email:** support cannot restore access. Copperstrait holds no identity, so nothing else proves the account is yours.

Keep that number in a password manager from day one.

## Is there a phone number or a chat account?

**No. The two email addresses above are the only way to reach us.** There is no Copperstrait phone line, chat app account or social media profile. Anyone offering Copperstrait support elsewhere is not us, so never give them payment or login details.

## Which pages answer the usual questions?

Many questions are answered before you write:

## More questions about Copperstrait support

### When can I expect a reply from Copperstrait support?

A person answers support emails within 12 hours, seven days a week, including help with SSH keys, RAID, reinstalls and firewall rules. Abuse reports go to their own inbox, abuse@copperstrait.com, so they never wait behind support mail.

### How long until a new server is ready?

Someone on the team sets the machine up once your payment is confirmed, within 72 hours, so delivery is not instant; the dashboard tracks it until the IP address shows. Among 33 Asian bare-metal sellers surveyed on 2 November 2026, the median stated maximum was 48 hours. Your paid days start when the server is ready.

### Could someone from Copperstrait ask me for my root password?

Never. Nobody from our team will ever ask for your account number, your root password or your private SSH key, by email or in a chat. A message asking for them is fake, whatever address it comes from.

### Will the team restart or reinstall my server on request?

Yes. Both are dashboard requests that a person on the team then performs. A reinstall clears every disk, so copy your data first.

### Do I need to prove who I am to get support?

No. No KYC: you upload no ID, no selfie and no documents, and give no card or phone number. Quote the order reference and the server's IP address; that is enough to find your server.
