## Why does the payment gateway behind a host matter?

**Five Asian bare-metal hosts take crypto through Cryptomus, which the United Kingdom placed under sanctions on 8 October 2026.** The designation names XELTOX ENTERPRISES LTD, also known as Cryptomus and Heleket, under the Russia regime. RedSwitches and Zomro take crypto through it alone; MonoVM, 1Gbits and WebHorizon offer other gateways too.

Other gateways named were CoinGate, Plisio, BitPay, CoinPayments and NOWPayments. Several hosts name none. At Copperstrait you send coins straight to the address shown on the payment page, on the exact network chosen. Incoming payments are screened against public sanctions lists of blockchain addresses wherever the chain shows the sender, which a Monero transfer does not; payments from a listed address are not credited.

## Can I pay for an Asian server in USDT?

**Yes, at twelve of the 18 crypto hosts, but not at Vultr, KoDDoS or Cherry Servers.** Cherry Servers stopped taking USDT through CoinGate on 23 March 2025, citing the EU's MiCA rules, and offers USDC instead. Latitude.sh takes only USDC, on Solana or Ethereum, as prepaid credit. Dataplugs takes USDT only above $89.

Few hosts state the USDT network before checkout; Shinjiru names ERC-20. Ours are listed with confirmation times in the payment steps below. Copperstrait accepts BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, XMR.

## Which Asian hosts accept Monero or Lightning?

6 hosts accepted Monero: 1Gbits, Anubiz Host, KoDDoS, RedSwitches, Ultahost and VSYS Host. Only 1, Cherry Servers, named the Bitcoin Lightning Network.

Copperstrait accepts Monero but not Lightning. Send the exact amount to our Monero address, as with any other coin; it is checked after 10 confirmations, around 20 minutes. A public explorer shows neither the sender nor the amount of a Monero payment, unlike BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL or LTC. Our billing still ties your account to its orders, its servers' IP addresses and the TXID you declare. Among the six above, RedSwitches routes Monero through Cryptomus like its other coins. Coin lists say little about what a host allows on the server, such as Tor relays; those policies are compared in [Which hosting providers in Asia allow Tor relays?](https://copperstrait.com/tor-relay-asia/ "Tor relay policies of Asian hosts")

## Does paying in crypto mean no ID check?

**No: at several Asian hosts, crypto changes the payment, not the identity check.** Cherry Servers restricts its cheapest servers for new crypto clients until they verify ID or add €100 of credit. Zomro's terms list crypto payment itself as a reason to ask for KYC. Hivelocity verifies every account before delivery, and Latitude.sh asks for ID or $100 of credit.

Others go the other way. RedSwitches asks KYC of card payers only, and Anubiz Host states no KYC at signup. No KYC: you upload no ID, no selfie and no documents, and give no card or phone number. ## Which crypto hosts sell a server comparable to Copperstrait's?

**Of the 18 crypto hosts, only 8 had an Asian server that passed our checks.** 7 of them sold it in Hong Kong, Singapore or Tokyo. Those checks were a 2018-or-later CPU, a 1 Gbit/s port, 10 TB of traffic, one IPv4 address, monthly billing and no sold-out notice. Each Strait price follows the rule on our pricing page. The cheapest ones are ranked in [What is the cheapest dedicated server hosting in Asia?](https://copperstrait.com/cheap-dedicated-server-asia/ "Cheapest dedicated servers in Asia, November 2026")

The cheapest rival to Strait 16 was $191.00 at MonoVM. For Strait 32 it was $475.00 at KoDDoS. Every rival, city by city, is in [Which hosts rent dedicated servers in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo?](https://copperstrait.com/dedicated-server-hong-kong-singapore-tokyo/ "Who sells bare metal in the three Asian hubs") Our full list is on [pricing](https://copperstrait.com/pricing/ "Copperstrait servers, terms and price rule").

## What are the steps to pay Copperstrait in crypto?

One account number, one crypto balance, then the server. Here is each step, with the confirmations each network needs.

1. **Top up $1 or more** — Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, XMR). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.
2. **Send it to the address shown, on the exact network** — The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin, XMR on Monero. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.
3. **Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”** — Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how we find your payment and link it to your account.
4. **Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain** — Your balance is credited once we have checked the transaction on the blockchain, after the network has confirmed it. Typical network confirmation times:
5. **Rent your server** — Pick a server, a term, a city, a system and your SSH key (or none, for a temporary root password); the top-up follows the price of that term. Once the payment is confirmed, your server is built and handed over in minutes, never more than one hour later; its IP address then shows in the dashboard. Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your servers. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it.

| Crypto | Network | Confirmations | Usual time |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Bitcoin (BTC) | Bitcoin | 2 | ≈ 20 min |
| Tether (USDT) | Tron (TRC-20) | 20 | ≈ 1 min |
| Tether (USDT) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | ≈ 5 min |
| USD Coin (USDC) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | ≈ 5 min |
| Ethereum (ETH) | Ethereum | 12 | ≈ 5 min |
| Solana (SOL) | Solana | 1 | ≈ 1 min |
| Litecoin (LTC) | Litecoin | 6 | ≈ 15 min |
| Monero (XMR) | Monero | 10 | ≈ 20 min |

Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again.

## Paying for Asian servers in crypto: common questions

### Can I pay for a Hong Kong server with Bitcoin?

Yes, at Copperstrait and at most crypto hosts selling there: 1Gbits, Anubiz Host, KoDDoS, MonoVM, RedSwitches, Server.HK and Ultahost all named Bitcoin. Dataplugs takes only USDT.

### What is the minimum I can pay in?

At Copperstrait, $1. Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your servers. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it.

### Do crypto payments get refunded?

Rarely, in Asia. RedSwitches refunds crypto as store credit only, and Zomro and Ultahost exclude crypto payments from refunds. If we cannot deliver a server, or it fails and support cannot restore it, the days it was out of service are put back on your balance. Balances never expire. Top-ups are not paid out unless the law requires it; whatever was paid only to reach the minimum top-up can be returned on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC, if still unspent.

### Does Vultr accept USDT for bare metal in Tokyo?

Not by name. Vultr's BitPay list has Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ether, Dogecoin, Litecoin and several dollar stablecoins, but no USDT.

### Which coin is cheapest to send?

That depends on network fees on the day, which we do not control. The payment steps show each network and how many confirmations it needs before your balance is credited.
